The Battery Russell is a part of Fort Stevens State Park and part of Fort Steven`s Military Reservation. This location served post(mail) to the Oregon Coast during the Civil War, until World War II.

Situated very gracefully on one of the hills, it faces the flow and the ebb of the beautiful Pacific Ocean, and upon a glance, one can see its rich history. There are many stories of this area being haunted, so make sure you bring a flashlight for your self-guided tour!

Bring the whole family to explore the Native American Longhouse Replica, the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse model, the ORIGINAL Cannon that Cannon Beach is named for, and much more at the Cannon Beach History Center and Museum. See how Cannon Beach and the entire Oregon Coast have grown and changed over the years.

Our permanent exhibit covers Cannon Beach history from the geologic formation of Haystack Rock up to the present day. Additional temporary exhibits, seasonal quilt shows, and a variety of special events help bring history to life for thousands of visitors each year.

The Columbia River Maritime Museum provides a passage back in time for guests of all ages by combining history with cutting-edge technology. Founded in 1962 to preserve maritime history, come explore the first museum in Oregon to meet national accreditation. The official state maritime museum, come partake in demonstrations, workshops and special exhibits.

Experience the elegance of the late Victorian period by touring the home of Captain George Flavel. This 1886 Queen Anne home features original Eastlake influenced woodwork, period furnishings, and exotic hardwood fireplace mantels.

Begin your tour at the Carriage House Visitor Center (located behind the house on the corner of 7th & Exchange Streets), which houses additional exhibits, the museum store, and orientation video.

The Oregon Film Museum celebrates the art and legacy of films and film-making in the State of Oregon. Housed in the old Clatsop County Jail, the museum invites visitors to explore these and other films and the production behind making movies in Oregon.

Wander through this building that was an actual working jail (from 1914 – 1976) and the scene of the famous opening jailbreak from the Goonies! Come explore cinema history in Oregon today!
