Camp 18 could easily be your most popular stop on your way to and from the Oregon Coast via State Highway 26 between Portland and Seaside / Cannon Beach. Camp 18 is the result of an enormous effort by Gordon Smith and the late Maurie Clark, both near-legendary figures in the northwest logging scene.

Camp 18 is a log cabin-type structure built by Gordon Smith and friends. Its architecture is authentic in materials and construction techniques and features, for example, an 85-foot ridgepole that`s the largest such piece in the United States and weighs approximately 25 tons. There`s plenty of RV-size parking in the lot.

Explore the cheese-making process and even try a free sample on an exciting Tillamook Cheese Factory tour. Open daily year-round, hours are as follows:

• 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday – Thursday
• 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday – Saturday
• Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas Day

The Discovery Trail on Washington`s Long Beach Peninsula crosses a broad Pacific beach, grassy dunes, seaside forests, and postcard-ready ocean bluffs. It`s a great place to explore for unparalleled and unforgettable views!

You can bike it or walk it, and if you tackle all, or even a portion, of this remarkable mostly paved trail, you`ll be treated to some of the state`s most exhilarating seaside scenery, while enjoying stimulating art and interesting interpretive exhibits along the way.
